5-6 Uji Renge Byodoin Omotesando 611-0021, Uji
After enjoying the matcha soba with my lover and Kawabun, I walked on this road to Byodo-in Phoenix Hall.It was a very hot day in midsummer, so she ate and walked with matcha soft cream, but there were many shops and the smell of Uji matcha Was surrounding. It was hot but calm.
Very touristy and expensive, but tastefully done.
There are many shops on the approach to Byodo-in Temple. It looks like a souvenir shop for tourists and a shop for Uji tea. I remembered that one shop. Certainly it was a shop that appeared on TV and it was a famous tourist spot.    Each shop promoted soft ice cream using tea or cold tea with a new sense.    I bought my proud Uji tea and went home.
A lot of unfinished matcha
Love the matcha things here! The matcha soft cream was so good - bitter yet sweet. We enjoyed matcha parfait and matcha tea here
Original building and art, rare among the most famous temples/shines in Kyoto. Incredibly beautiful statue of Buddha, and other sculptures and paintings, to enjoy. One of the lesser-visited temples, so one can enjoy a bit more tranquility here.

NICE
Quiet place
Lovely lil lane leading to and away from Byodoin. Plenty of small quaint shops to look at, buy, and eat from! As you know, Uji is the famed green tea capitol of the world. And several tea sellers here are decades or century-old. So, eat some matcha ramen, buy sencha or hoji cha tea leaves as souvenirs to bring home, enjoy the matcha anmitsu at thd tea rooms! Its a really pleasant walk!
Take a walk around the Omotesando of the World Heritage Byodo-in temple. At this time, a lot of insects were flying around because of the side of the Uji river.Whether delicious or not, there are shops with ramen, udon, ice, etc. that have just taken in tea. There were a lot of people in the tourist area. Starbucks also embraces the atmosphere of Uji, so foreigners may not be pleased.
Maple season is not rare to come here can enjoy as well as Maple LeafFeel more exciting than Tenryu-ji!
Nice, quiet place to sightsee. EVERYTHING sold here is green tea based, so be careful if that's a problem for you.
At Suruga shop on the right side of the approach entrance, delicious tea dumplings made on the day can be eaten inside the shop! Eating well is also good if it gets warmer
Lot lots of green tea store and tea house .. slow walk after temple visit and enjoy your tea and Japanese sweet here is quite nice experience
Go to Byodo-in Temple without hesitation. There are many tea shops, and there are shops where you can eat tea and sweets at takeout.
As soon as you exit the gate of Byodoin Temple, Omotesando, most of the meals run by the store are related to matcha. If you are interested, you can experience the taste of matcha. But my experience is not obvious, I may compare the dessert part.In addition, there are private gardens full of cherry blossoms on the road, which are very eye-catching, and people can't help but stop and take photos.
nice place with museum
Was expecting an actual ancient trail, ended up being just another commercial street.
There are many sweets shops.Speaking of Uji, there is only “teaâ€, and there are many long-established stores of matcha and hojicha. There were also several soba shops. You are making efforts with Wi-Fifree.The map of the store introduction in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese was also good.In addition to the introduction of the shop,The store owner's appearance is unique.
Uji is not a must-visit spot for tourists, but we have been here 2 times and love the quiet streets here, full of matcha products
It is a road heading to the Byodoin temple which is called road of grean tea. There are a plenty of greantea shops from leafs to food. You will enjoy the smell all day long. We went there in the afternoon during the weekday. A few people were on the street, and no queue was required for the famous Nakamura tea shop. If you have spare time, a path walking along the river is worth trying. It is calm, beautiful and relaxable. Also, on another side of the long bridge close to the Keihan train station, there is a famous macha ice cream. I recomnended you to try a macha ice cream from the shop closest to the bridge as shown in one of my images.
The weather was nice and beautifulIt looks like Nakamise to Byodo-in Phoenix Hall
To late, it's closed when we arrived. But looks peaceful
Look at 10yen you will know where you are going.
so many small store, lot of food and stuff of Japan green tea
Byodo-in is both historical and culturally important. The museum is exceptionally good at showing the original brilliant colors.
This place was awesome. A great authentic experience. The rich tonkotsu broth was delicious, 10/10 recommend!
Nice place
The fragrance of tea drifts from various shops, and there are not only famous shops but also local tea shops, so it is fun to watch in various ways.If you go straight, you can go to the road along the Uji River, so you can walk across the bridge from Tonoshima to the opposite bank.
The road getting to the Byodoin Temple (and museum) represents by itself a nice experience: you can find many tea shops and restaurant offering different local, mainly matcha tea based recipes. The temple is very nice, but I expected more from the museum. However, nearby it, you can find the Toka tea house where they offer tea, sweets, tea powder to take with you, and if you are lucky and ask nicely enough, they even show you how to make a good matcha tea.
Good
We tried the match gyoza but felt that it was quite weird as the matcha makes the gyoza bitter while the gyoza filling is salty. 400yen for 6 pieces of matcha gyoza. There are matcha takoyaki as well.
With a human touch, you can know tea.
It's was good. Please check the work in time before planning to come here
The place to get your Matcha fix
Although there are many stores that are not open during the off-season, they are rarely beautiful
Because of the warm winter this year, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom in late March The sun was strong. Sakura and Byodoin, it was the best angle!
There are many shops.There are matcha products v (・ ∀ ・ *)
Excellent not crowded place. Is not so far from Kyoto and the matcha experience you can get totally worths the short trip
nice
I wrote the first goshokucho, politely.
A lot of green tea products, sweets, and food. I tried eating green tea ramen and green tea gyoza which were awesome but they closed pretty early in winter
Casual tourist walking street
The streets of Uji are cleanAnd there wo n’t be a lot of peopleIt's comfortable to walk ~It's really nice to enjoy the scenery while walking
Overpriced
There is a short distance from the station to this side, but you will see distinctive places when you walk to Omotesando. The streets are clean and there are not many people. The place is characterized by matcha. You can watch the maple leaves and walk while enjoying the roadside scenery.
Souvenir shops, buckwheat tea shops, eating walking sweets shops, coffee shops and so on line up. Because it is Uji, there are many things that used tea. It is also close to the station so easy to shop. I think that it can be enjoyed because the rickshaw is also open although it is expensive.
Phoenix Hall is beautiful ~~ Uji Matcha Cream will be filled with matcha powder! !! CP value is very high ~~
